Aviva Michaelov is the Art Director of the Week in Review section at The New York Times. Previous assignments include the design of “2007: The Year in Pictures,” and the redesign of the Book Review section with Nicholas Blechman.
While at Parsons School of Design, aviva worked at pixelpress.org, a multidisciplinary studio as a print and web designer. After her grduation she freelanced for RG/A, working in web design.
In 2004 she began working at The New York Times as a designer and later on an art director. Her work at The New York Times has been recognized by the Society of Newspaper Design. While at Parsons, Aviva received a Type Director's Club Scholarship Award given to promising students of typography.
